The importance of responsability

Being responsible takes dedication and it sometimes means doing things you don’t want to do. Or not doing things you want to do.

There are three types of responsibility:

The first one is being responsible for yourself. You are responsible for your own actions, your own decisions and your own happiness. You are responsible for having a better life. I can give you some examples. You have to take care of your health and your body. You have to eat well and do exercise. You mustn’t smoke cigarettes, or take drugs or drink alcohol. Your body is precious and you have to protect yourself from things that are dangerous to your health.

The second type of responsibility is being responsible for doing the right things. You have to go to school. You have to study for your exams and show dedication. You have to work hard and you mustn’t be lazy. At home, you have to help your parents around the house. You mustn’t expect them to do everything for you. So you have to look after your pets, and tidy your bedroom… And you can also wash the dishes or do the laundry.

The third type of responsibility is being responsible in society. That is, you have to behave well with your parents, with your classmates and with your teachers. You mustn’t be rude to other people. You have to show respect and be polite. So, for example, when you arrive somewhere, say hello to other people.
