About my CASD

Our Educational Institution CASD José Prudencio Padilla is located in Barrancabermeja City, the Petroleum capital of Colombia. It is a public institution that handles population with 1 and 2 social stratum, and people displaced by violence. It provides education from preschool level to technical formation. We are the only institution in the city with inclusive education; it means that some of our students have some kind of hearing disability. JOSE PRUDENCIO PADILLA Admiral José Prudencio Padilla, hero of the Naval Battle of Lake Maracaibo, fought in 1823 and faced the squad of the Spanish commander Laborde. It was an intense battle, but before the impetus and courage of the Creole patriots, Laborde had to capitulate and undertake the withdrawal. Colombian Endangered Animals

Andean bears or Spectacled bears They are the only species of bears in South America and one of the most emblematic mammals of the tropical Andes. They live in the Andes Mountains, the greatest number of bears is to be found on the borders between Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. They are fairly specialized in fruit and different parts of several plants; they feed high up in trees as well as on plants growing on the ground; in addition, they eat insects, small rodents and birds. Males can weigh from 100 to 200 kg. They are solitary and tend to isolate themselves from one another . Amazon Manatees They are hervibores. They live in in the rivers, swamps, and wetlands of the Amazon River basin. They can remain submerged for up to 15 minutes. They feed mostly during the wet season, when there is plenty of new vegetation, storing the food in their fat reserves.
